Expressive Landscapes and Florals

MONDAY 6-9 PM

June 24- August 26 10 classes

Inspired by artists such as Monet, Matisse and Van Gogh, we will paint our own interpretations of the landscape and florals. The instructor will cover how to work from photo reference. Brush handling, color mixing and composition will be covered in detail. Each class starts with inspiration from a master artist. You are encouraged to bring in photo reference to work from as well. Working loosely and expressively is also encouraged. Every student gets personal attention and positive feedback in a friendly atmosphere.

Gelliplate Monoprint Without a Press

WEDNESDAYS 1-4 pm

Get ready to be amazed! This Gelliplate class will open new doors to printing without a press. Extremely versatile and very receptive, the Gelliplate is in a class by itself when it comes to making the monoprint. In this class, the instructor will cover everything you need to know to create monoprints without a press. Color mixing, layers, stencils, masks and registration are covered in depth. Master artists will be introduced for inspiration. Lots of individual attention and positive feedback in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

Abstract Acrylic Painting Beginning to Intermediate

Abstract painting can be very complex and rewarding to create. This class allows for endless possibilities. The instructor will cover the basics such as understanding abstract art, composition, line, mark and shape. Master artists will be discussed and reviewed. Color mixing and brush handling will also be covered in depth. You’ll also be given the tools to get started; what to look for and where to find inspiration. You can expect individual attention and positive feedback in a friendly atmosphere.

Small but Mighty Painting Marathon

Saturday and Sunday

10 am to 4 pm July 20-21

Get ready to paint! In this two day workshop, you will be encouraged to paint a lot! Small format canvases are encouraged too. The more you paint, the better you get. Painting multiple canvases over a two day period will teach you a lot about what works and what doesn’t. It doesn’t matter if you are painting abstracts, flowers or landscapes. More is better. The instructor will cover color mixing, composition, paint handling, paint chemistry and more. Everything you need to know to become a painter in just two days! Lots of individual attention in a friendly atmosphere.
