Welcome! Start Here.
Welcome to Procreate for Beginners. Here’s what you will need:
iPad (any size) This is the one I use. See below for more info on the types of iPads and Procreate compatibility.
Stylus (Apple Pencil preferred)
Procreate App
Wifi connection
Optional:
Parc Slope (I can’t live without mine!)
Every so often I will host free Zoom meetings just for the students in this class. Be on the lookout for email invitations to those meetings. If you can’t make it to the Zoom meeting, not to worry, the recordings will be posted here Zoom .
+ Which iPads are compatible with Procreate?
The current version of Procreate is supported on the following iPad models:

- 10.5-inch iPad Pro
- 9.7-inch iPad Pro
- iPad (7th generation)
- iPad (6th generation)
- iPad (5th generation)
- iPad mini (5th generation)
- iPad mini 4
- iPad Air (3rd generation)
- iPad Air 2
+ What if I don't have a compatible iPad? Can I still use Procreate?
If you’re unable to download Procreate from the App Store, this workaround may help you obtain a compatible version:
Purchase Procreate as a gift through the App Store, and send the gift purchase to your own email.
Redeem the purchase using the link in your email.
This will allow you to download a compatible version of Procreate from the Purchased section of your App Store account.
This class is entirely self-paced so you do not need to attend the Zoom meetings to understand the class. The Zoom meetings are just a special add-on for my students and an opportunity to ask questions and get feedback.
Don’t forget to join the Facebook Group (see the button on the sidebar).
You will also get an invitation to join my private Slack Workplace. This is a very secure commenting platform to share your work and interact with other students. Be on the lookout for an email invitation to Slack. More info on Slack here.
I’ll be adding a few more bits and pieces to this class but I wanted to get it launched! Be on the lookout for a video just about gestures and some cool info on brushes!
