Sketchbook Adventures Starts June 29!
Sketchbook Adventures:
Discovering Your Inner Artist Without Learning To Draw
Five Online Classes
Begins June 29, 2024 Online in Zoom
Every Saturday from 4:30-5 pm Pacific.

What You’ll Learn
A lot of people think of sketching as drawing. And that you have to be able to draw realistically to create a sketch. But that’s not really true. Sketching can be as simple as abstract shapes and color. You can create imaginary animals, plants and houses if you like. Sketching can include collage, lettering, stenciling, and just about anything you like. The joy of working in a sketchbook is open to everyone - even if you are intimidated by the idea of “drawing.” If you already know how to draw, you’ll have plenty of fun creating with some of the sketchbook prompts I have in store for you. So join me on Sketchbook Adventures. I promise you won’t have to learn to draw!

Materials List
Here are the recommended materials for this workshop:
Paints, brushes, paper, etc. are all listed in my Amazon store here.
We will be using acrylic gouache because of its matte surface. Your sketchbook pages will be less likely to stick together. I use both Golden SoFlat and Liquitex Acrylic Gouache
You’ll need TWO sketchbooks for the class. This is the one I use. One will be drying while we work on the other. I work in 7”x10” but any size is fine.
Paint pens are a necessity too. Posca are the best!
Soft smallish brushes. This is the set I use. One larger brush for backgrounds.
Optional:
Miscellaneous decorative papers for collage.** optional
Glue stick. ** optional
Decorative stencils. ** optional
A table covering.
Water container.
Paper towels.
An apron or an old shirt. If you get paint on your clothes, rinse immediately in cold water.
